Kevin Nash Comments on WWE Future, and Match w/Big Show

In a interview with WWE.com following his surprise appearance at Last Night's Royal Rumble, Kevin Nash commented on how nice it was to be in a building with people in it a completely obvious jab at TNA Wrestling. He also stated that if that was his last match at the Rumble then he couldn't be any more happy. Joey Styles asked him if he would like to stay in WWE, Nash's response to this was that he knows that Randy Orton has a lot of pull backstage but he will stay as long as the WWE will have him. The stare down between him and Big Show has raised many questions about a possible match between the two. Nash explains that there is a history between them in and out the ring and he would love to fight him again. Wrestlemania 27 here we go!!!

Royal Rumble Thoughts

Dolph Ziggler vs Edge
Dolph Ziggler in my opinion is becoming a strong force for the Smackdown Roster and Lord knows they need it. In the first match up of the night,Edge and Dolph bought the house down. They worked off each other and the crowd and showed amazing chemistry. With the spear being banned in this match Edge had to use new tactics to get ahead in this match. Edge was in control in the beginning but then he fell victim to Dolph's amazing technical and high paced moves. With the interruption of Vickie Guerrero and Kelly Kelly, then the ref being out for a few minutes the winner of this match was impossible to decide. Edge used Vickie being knocked out and out of sight to his advantage and performed the illegal spear to Ziggler and won the match. This match deserved five stars in my opinion.

Randy Orton vs. The Miz
Already the buildup to match for me was good. A Wrestlemania  match in my opinion. Any who, in this rivalry both competitors roles were changed. Randy Orton being the fan favorite and Miz being the hated, selfish champion. As we all expected in this match there was interference in this match from Alex Riley these tactics making Miz to feel lucky. Randy Orton took over and even executes the DDT. The Nexus comes out,Randy still stays focused to get Miz set up for the RKO,but CM Punk sneaks in the ring and attacks him and The Miz retains the title.

Natalya vs LayCool vs Eve Torres
I love Natalya's wrestling skills but they seriously have to give her real challenges. The match was first a handicap match but then turned into a fatal four way and Eve Torres was added. I really hate the state of the Women's Division so I choose not to comment on it.

Royal Rumble Match
CM Punk came in as the first entry and seem to feel very content with his number in the Rumble. Before the match officially started the Nexus entered the ring along with the Corre and a big brawl filled the ring. I found that scuffle to be pointless and was happy when Daniel Bryan came out to officially start the Rumble. Okay let me fast forward to the star of the Rumble Mr. John Morrison. He is officially my hero, he got thrown of the turn buckle lands on the security rail while his feet never touches the floor. Then he walks on the rail to jump on the stairs near the ring to enter the ring again. The way he got eliminated was complete b.s. but I'm confident that Morrison will get his title shot down the line. Throughout the middle of the Rumble the Nexus were dominating the match even over The Great Khali and they also ruined Booker T's Rumble Moment to me. Then  Cena comes out to save the day and eliminated all the Nexus members except for CM Punk. Of course they had to make it comical and bring out Hornswaggle and have him do stupid moves and get dropped kicked by Sheamus. The next eventful moment was the return of Kevin Nash aka Diesel, I have to say that I got excited and loved the fans reaction to him, it made me reminisce about the 90's, ahh good memories!!! When Kevin Nash walks back to the locker room and bumps into Big Show you see the heat between them and know that this is foreshadowing something brewing between them at Wrestlemania. I always love when Kane comes into a Rumble because he completely dominates but like every time before he somehow gets eliminated, good luck next time Kane. The Final Four contestants were Wade Barrett, Cena, Orton, and Alberto Del Rio. Miz eliminated Orton, Randy Orton goes to eliminate Barrett and Del Rio eliminates Orton to become the 2011 Royal Rumble Winner. I have to admit I have mixed signals about Del Rio's win. I believe that Del Rio hasn't been in the WWE that long to be in the main event match but I feel that Smackdown doesn't have that many main eventers so I feel that's why they picked Del Rio. Now I know that John Morrison should've won but do you really think that Randy Orton was going to step aside and let Morrison take away his title shot at Wrestlemania I think not. So as we all know backstage politics runs this business that we love. Overall I enjoyed the Royal Rumble. People did get screwed but that's how wrestling is. Morrison had the moment of the night in my eyes!!!

Current WWE News

Triple H vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27 Rumors
If undertaker is healthy enough there are rumors of him facing off against "The Game" Triple H at Wrestlemania. There is also speculation that Shawn Michaels will be the special guest referee in this alleged match. Idk sounds good to me. Even though this match will take away from the current heavyweight champs in the WWE who have worked all year to have the spotlight at Wrestlemania.

Update on the Kimbo Slice Appearance at Wrestlemania

Okay the Kimbo Slice is contiuning to pop up. Now there are details of Kimbo being the special enforcer in the Undertaker's Match. Nothing is confirmed yet but I will keep you posted.

WWE NXT 1/18/11 Results

So this week on the fourth season of NXT the episode opened with the rookie challenge. In this challenge the rookies had to answer questions about themselves the way that they believe their pros would. Rookie Daniel Bateman consistently answered every question right which was hilarious because the answers were ridiculous but they were obviously set up to have the same answers. Daniel Bateman for another week won a challenge which made him immune from elimination. Following the challenge was a match between rookie Byron Saxton and Pro Chris Masters. Saxon has improved in his in ring ability but is still very rusty. He needs to feel as confident in his wrestling as he does with his mic skills. This led to Chris Masters taking the win making Bryon Saxton's Pro Dolph Ziggler very angry. Broadus Clay/ Ted Dibiase vs Daniel Bateman/ Daniel Bryan had a good tag team match. You felt the chemistry between Bateman and Bryan and the heat between Clay and Dibiase during this match. I know that I'm making a bold statement but I believe that Bateman and Bryan will be tag team champs in the WWE in 2011. Their chemistry led to them winning the match. Rookie Connor O'Brien goes against Alberto Del Rios ring announcer Ricardo Rodriquez, which is one of the dumbest storylines conjured up for this season of NXT. This match consisted of Rodriquez getting squashed and having little offensive moves. In the "surprising" upset Rodriquez gets the win. In this weeks elimination Connor O'Brien was the unlucky rookie to be let go. I guess the rat gimmick just didn't work. Until next week!!!

Awesome Soon will be in WWE!!!

There has speculation on when Awesome Kong will be debuting in WWE but we can confirm that she is apart of the WWE family. There are rumors that Kong will debut on Smackdown and she will be tied to Laycool as their bodyguard. Another rumor is that Kong and Beth Phoenix will cross paths and have a match at Wrestlemania 27. I don't really want to be overjoyed because we all know what happens to female wrestlers in the WWE, the only thing that I can hope is that they let her be the human wrecking ball that she is and dominate the Divas Division. Also if the Glamazon Beth Phoenix and Kong have a feud that they actually get a good storyline and buildup to the match and that they define clearly who is the heel and who is the babyface. All in all I'm proud of Kong. Good Luck in the big time!1!

Current TNA Wrestling News!!!

Tara Injured
On Tara's twitter page, she indicted that after her MRI, her doctor wants her to do physical therapy to prevent having to have surgery on her arm.

Awesome Kong No More
Awesome Kong lost in her attempt to trademark her name. TNA feels that she used fraud and misinterpreted
herself when she applied for the ownership.

Alex Shelley Injury
Alex Shelley recently broke his collarbone in a house show in Hagerstown,Maryland. Shelly's close wrestling friends left comments on Facebook saying
"Hey friends, please keep Alex in your thoughts- our main man suffered a broken collarbone yesterday. Here's to hoping he has a quick and safe recovery. We love you man.

TNA's NY Tour Confirmed

This video is so funny!! Matt Hardy telling the truth about Val Venis's Motives

Kimbo Slice rumored to come to the WWE

Rumors are starting to surface that MMA fighter Kimbo Slice might be making an appearance in the WWE as a possible special enforcer ref for Wrestlemania 27. I think this would be a good add for a main event Wrestlemania match, having someone who has an athletic background as a ref only makes for good press for the WWE. Crossing my fingers to see what will happen.

TNA Wrestling looking to expand X Division

I have so many problems with this situation. My first problem is that there was nothing wrong with the X division before the Hogan/Bischoff regime took over and tried to dictate what would work for TNA when they weren't  there when TNA was starting the foundation of the company. They got rid of the six sided ring which was what made TNA unique and the X division superstars like A.J. Styles, Jerry Lynn, Chris Sabin, Senshi (now Kaval) Petey Williams, Kazarian, etc shine. These superstars were cast to the side when TNA wanted to become competition to the WWE. My second problem with this is now how are they going to try to repair this when TNA's core fans have moved on to watch companies like Ring of Honor or maybe even AAA wrestling. The people they laid off that worked their asses on for TNA are not going to return so the new X division will probably be a watered down version of what it use to be. Only time will tell. Here is a match from the TNA they I consider a true tribute to the old X division.Enjoy!!!

The Hardy and Val Venis Feud?

Okay the main question that I had in this first of all is why Val Venis would make a video while driving on the highway. This to me made me fear for his life lol. The  next question that came to mind was why does he hate Matt Hardy so much. In the now popular video Val  made statements that Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy didn't pay their dues to be in this business. Which I have a very different opinion on but that is for a different blog. He also takes jabs at Shannon Moore and Shane Helms calling them backyard wrestlers and that they know nothing about the wrestling. As we know Val Venis isn't the only wrestler to shoot on Hardy, Paul London had a few choice words to say as well, and though I find this very entertaining to watch I just have to say that maybe Matt put this on his self by always blogging and making videos talking about any and everything in his life and just telling way to much information about the locker in the WWE. I mean these things put him in the unemployment line. Maybe he will have better luck in TNA.

Monday Night Raw 1/17/11

Last night's Raw was in a nutshell a yaw. The show started off with John Cena celebrating that this was his first in 2011 and how we wanted to fight CM Punk. Suddenly The Miz interrupts Cena and officially announces that the 2011 Royal Rumble will consist of 40 participants instead of the usual 30. Also, to top it off the winner of the Royal Rumble gets to choose which heavyweight champion that they want to go aganist at Wrestlemania which I think is a good add to the traditional Royal Rumble. Okay let me dig into the heart of the show the matches:

Tag Team Match: Santino and Kozlov vs The Usos
In this tag team match I have to say that I am impressed with the improvements of both teams. Santino and Kozlov seem to gel well together much to my surprise and to many others that they would get a good push and they would truly work together well with such different  styles. The Usos who started off rusty in their debut matches have now gotten the hang of being a heel tag team and picking apart an opponents body part. They sold the fact that Kozlov is a powerhouse and can not be dominated so they attacked body parts to gain a lead. However with all their Samoan swagger they possess they just couldn't defeat the odds and win.

Divas Match: Natalya vs Maryse
In a non title match that seemed like it was put together five minutes before because like most Diva matches there is no storyline of visible reason why these opponents have heat with each other . Natalya and Maryse did the usual five minute match. With Melina and Eva Torres doing commentary of the match it is clear to see that these women have alot to learn about knowing how to have charisma or any talent in being a good mouthpiece. Anyway, Natalya won the match and Maryse  had a hissy fit and started to yell at Michael Cole and blame him for his part in her losing the match.

Over the Rope Challenge
Following the Divas Match Ted Dibiase issued an Over the top Rope Challenge  to anyone on the Raw roster. Mark Henry initially answered the call but more superstars soon followed like Sheamus,R-Truth, David Hart Smith, Darren Young, Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder, Primo, William Regal and Tyson Kidd. I most say I was entertained by this match it was fast paced and exciting. I however did not like the outcome. Sheamus was dominating the last two mintues of the match so I don't get why Mark Henry won. Oh well I guess he is trying to still get a push.

John Morrison vs Daniel Bryan
Once again John Morrison is showing his incredible athleticism in this match against another true athlete Daniel Bryan . John Morrison took the win and pro veiled   but not without Sheamus coming out to remind Morrison that they still haven't ended their feud.

Randy Orton vs Dolph Ziggler
Both number one contenders for Smackdown and Raw's Heavyweight Titles  at the Royal Rumble faced off  in a very technical match. Randy Orton was beaten and hurt but pro veiled in the match. But The Miz made a cameo after the match and brutally attacked Randy Orton spearing him through a guard rail and feeling like he made his point that he will remain champ.

CM Punk vs John Cena
Since I am completely annoyed with this angle I did not watch this match. But the result was that CM Punk defeated John Cena by disqualification. Hopefully they will get rid of Nexus soon because it is just not working anymore.

2011 Royal Rumble

The current news about  the 2011 Royal Rumble is that there will be for the first time 40 men competing in the Rumble instead of the traditional 30 men. I don't know if they believe that this is suppose to improve the Royal Rumble but I guess everything should be tried once. Maybe we'll get to see Pete Rose in the Rumble who knows or Beth Phoenix being the second women to be in the Royal Rumble again. I won't be the negative one let's just wait and see!!!

Rumors of Goldberg being in the Hall of Fame

Bill Goldberg in the 2011 Hall of Fame? Hmm sounds like WWE is really losing the idea of what a true Hall of Famer really is. I mean come on he worked for WCW where he had matches that consisted of him spearing some jobber and then he pins him and that's only a three minute match. Then he goes to the WWE in 2003 fights The Rock. The Rock totally carries the match of course, then he rolls into his match at Wrestlemania 20 with  Brock Lesnar and they literally walked around the ring for 40 minutes and stuck up the joint. My question to Vince and the office is how can you have not put Macho Man Randy Savage and you're possibly considering Golderg . I will boycott if this Goldberg rumor is true. I'm always up for debate so please take the liberty to leave comments and vote on my poll on whether Goldberg should be in the Hall of Fame!!

John Morrison:The New Shawn Michaels?

Okay, Now I know that the title of my latest blog is a very bold one but it may actually be true.Everyone knows that Shawn Michaels accomplishments in the squared circle cannot be duplicated but I believe that the WWE is going to mold Morrison as the new "Mr.Wrestlemania" of this decade. The caliber of matches that Morrison has had for the past few months have been nothing but superb. Morrison's performance alone in the ladder match at TLC  pay per view in December against Sheamus was a sign to me that he will over power  the biggest babyface in WWE John Cena in a few years because not only is he likable but  he can carry a match better than Cena and can really sell an injury better than anyone to build up the other opponent that he is going against. His "Falls Count Anywhere" match with The Miz two weeks ago on Raw was on the best matches that I've seen in years. Morrison already hurt from the ladder match from the prior night got the sympathy of the fans as you could clearly see the anguish on his face every time The Miz would attack his injured leg, a perfect heel tactic I might add. Morrison struggled to continue to get a lead in the match. Given a disadvantage and almost a handicap Morrison tried many maneuvers. His aerial moves were alive and kicking and being the fighter that he is he didn't give up. His signature moves were made however, Morrison did not win but he made a tremendous impact and put his self on the map as a Main Event Player. Okay there are people who are so skeptical about my theory, Alright then let's look at statistics. John Morrison became known in WWE for being apart of a tag team "MNM"with wrestler Joey Mercury and manager Melina. Shawn Michaels started in the WWE in a tag team "The Rockers"and had a very impactful manager later on "Sensational Sherri' . Both wrestlers were the better of the tag teams so eventually they branched off to solo careers. Both wrestlers are known for a fast paced non traditional style but can also surprise you and have a technical or iron man type match. Whether you fully agree with me or not you can't deny the tremendous talent of Mr.John Morrison.

What Ever Happened to the Main Event Players?

In 2010 we had the battle flags being drown up again when Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff decided to declare war on the WWE in another round of the infamous Monday Night Wars.TNA wrestling, now being their platform to show that they still have the ability to take down the monster company of WWE started to promote Hogan as the  weapon that they had  make Impact the new Raw. On January 4th the war started of course because of the Hogan publicity TNA's rating did go up however it was no way Impact was going to rival  Mr.McMahon and his blockbuster reunion of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels. I must say flipping through both channels were fascinating however, I must say that the tactics of both companies were the same. They both used well-known older 80's and 90's wrestlers who had their runs already and then some to bring in viewers into the head-to head broadcast. So this brings my question to the surface "Where are the new sensations in wrestling?" Do they always have to rely on Hogan,Piper or Bret to draw money? Or is it the easy thing to do? The attempt to start another Monday Night War was pitiful for the start. There really wasn't a big name in the two live broadcasts that made fans want to watch either organization. Me personally I'm a nineties child and will always hold the "Attitude Era" near and dear to my heart but I know that it is a different era now and the things that worked back then will never work now. Fans like me now are more so routing for the cruiser weight guys like A.J. Styles and Petey Williams Senshi aka Low Ki aka Kaval. The guys that leave there hearts and soul on the squared circle and give you there all. Not wrestling like Hulk Hogan who comes out poses for 20 minutes and then lifts his old leg up to do a unpolished leg drop. In 2002 up until the Hogan/Bischoff regime, TNA wrestling was becoming the longtime wrestling fans favorite U.S. wrestling company. A.J. Styles and others were starting to show other wrestling organiztions that wrestlers like him that were called mid-carders since could main event pay-per-views and be successful at it. I dear say that the matches that they had in 2002 were the best televised matches of the 2000's. The six sided ring that TNA use to have was a brilliant creation. It helped to showcase the acrobatic moves of these olympic style wrestlers. The company back then centered their promotion behind the wrestlers they had and that's what it should always be. The other beef that I have with both TNA and WWE is that they haven't taken time to develop characters lately for a long-term main-eventers. Now it seems in WWE everyone gets a chance to wear the once coveted WWE title. They aren't making wrestlers fight for the titles. Within eighteen months of being in the WWE "The Celtic Warrrior" Sheamus became the WWE Champion. As a fan, I felt like I didn't get a chance to truly to get to know his character. He was forced down my throat and I was forced to deal with him being champ. Don't get me wrong people, I think he is talented and he is the future of the company but the only person that I feel that has truly gotten over enough and has paid his way to be the champ is "The Viper" Randy Orton. We know his character, he has come into his own and he is the only new sensation in my eyes right now. TNA and WWE has alot of work to do. We are craving new talent that can actually carry a show and we need them now!!
