"Sunny Days" for the 2011 Hall of Fame !!!
Everyone is clicking away on facebook and twitter talking about the "alleged" new member of the 2011 Hall of Fame the proclaimed "originial diva" Tammy Syttch aka Sunny. It's obvious by now that Wrestlemania and the Hall of Fame inductees are all a tribute to the Attitude Era. This is probably the only female inductee that will be in the years ceremony so I think that she is a good pick. When you think about the Attitude Era and the people that became the face of it you think about Sunny. She was the stereotypical blonde girl next door, the girl that you had a crush on but you knew that you couldn't have. Even her theme "I know you want me" toyed with the fact that Sunny knew that she had arrived and she was WWE's It Girl at the time. Now there has been debates of whether she takes too much credit for what she thinks she accomplished in the WWE. In my opinion Sunny was marketed for what she truly was which was "eye candy". She would wear very short, tight and skimpy clothing, and make comments that was filled with innuendo. Vince McMahon knew that he had a good thing going. He had a girl that could talk on the mic, who was pretty and could make him money doing photo shoots in bikinis and lingerie. She also could be a distraction to wrestlers that were going aganist the people she was managing. I think her opinion of her being the first female to start everything is false because people like Sherri Martel,Fabulous Moolah,Alundra Blayze and Bull Nakano opened the door for women to have a spot in WWE. Now Sunny is right about her being the first "sex pot" of wrestling. She did open the doors the fitness model type of divas that came after her like Trish Stratus. So for that impact alone I feel like Sunny is a shoe in for the Hall of Fame. I just hope that her whole speech isn't her telling the crowd that she started everything for women in wrestling. The 2011 Hall of Fame just got sunnier!!!!
