Rumors of Goldberg being in the Hall of Fame
Bill Goldberg in the 2011 Hall of Fame? Hmm sounds like WWE is really losing the idea of what a true Hall of Famer really is. I mean come on he worked for WCW where he had matches that consisted of him spearing some jobber and then he pins him and that's only a three minute match. Then he goes to the WWE in 2003 fights The Rock. The Rock totally carries the match of course, then he rolls into his match at Wrestlemania 20 with Brock Lesnar and they literally walked around the ring for 40 minutes and stuck up the joint. My question to Vince and the office is how can you have not put Macho Man Randy Savage and you're possibly considering Golderg . I will boycott if this Goldberg rumor is true. I'm always up for debate so please take the liberty to leave comments and vote on my poll on whether Goldberg should be in the Hall of Fame!!

Well we all know the HOF is political, like everything the WWE is involved in. Vince handpicks the Inductees, where they should be selected by their peers. Savage isn't in because of personal issues between himself and Vince, but i'm hoping that relationship is being repaired with the inclusion of Savage in Mattel's new line of figures and his dvd released last year. With that being said, I say Goldberg deserves to be there as much as Warrior does.. and personally i believe Warrior belongs as well. Based on their impact on their respective companies during their respective runs, you have to include them in the HOF. They were major draws who didn't have to have 5 Star Matches to main event. I can't hate on them for that, they had that "IT" factor and it got them over. You want to talk about rip offs, let's examine the fact that Bob Backlund and Bruno Sammartino aren't i! Now that's something worth boycotting the HOF over, but Goldberg.. for a green guy he held his own and carried WCW until they tore his character down. Who knows what "could have been" had they utilized him correctly and egos didn't get in his way!
ReplyDeleteLet me start with saying thank you for your response. I agree that Goldberg did draw money based mostly on his look and the company that was backing him up. However I feel that when he came to the WWE and had a great push and could've done alot with that run but probably didn't get what he wanted, packed his bag and left. I also agree that the reason why Savage hasn't been inducted yet is because of a personal disagreement them him and Vince had,but I think Savage's Hall of Fame time might just be coming to the surface. Thank you once again for your comments.
ReplyDeleteI definitely hope Savage's time is now! That man is one of my favorites of all time and it's an injustice to put guys like HBK in before him. No offense to HBK, but if not for guys like Savage; there might not be a Show Stopper! I understand what you mean about Goldberg basically riding out on the same high horse he rode in on, but to his defense; the culture over there in WCW was somewhat "different" to say the least. He probably genuinely feels he's a big deal, and by working with guys like Nash & Hogan the first thing he prolly learned was to Protect Your Brand. Hogan sure didn't get to where he is by jobbing, and Goldberg surely saw that Vince was going to take away his "Invincibility" even more by having his top guys in WWE beat the former top guy in WCW.. Hence why Sting never did any work with Vince after WCW's death.
ReplyDeleteWow somebody finally says what I've been saying for years lol. I totally agree with everything that you said. Savage is my man and he's finally getting his due.
ReplyDeleteI do not like the fact that they are thinking about Goldberg as a Hall of Famer, hell he sucks. When it came time for Nash and the rest of the boys to face him, they carried the matches. And as you indicated, The Rock carried him through their match. Triple H did the same thing. As far as Sting is concerned, I was thinking bout what if he was in the royal rumble this year. It would not be a great idea, but it would have been funny. But he should be a first ballot hall of famer as soon as he retires
